Welcome to Anna Brooks Counselling

Counselling in Berkshire
Welcome to my counselling practice, where warmth and compassion are at the heart of our work together. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, you’ve taken a courageous step by seeking support. Here, you can gently start to let go of the burdens holding you back, achieve your goals, and experience greater peace and satisfaction in your life. Counselling provides a safe and supportive space for you to discover the answers within yourself and find your path to well-being.
Join me in our counselling sessions, where you'll find a warm, safe space to talk about your feelings and thoughts, empowering you to anticipate the future with greater hope and optimism.
As a professionally trained and BACP registered Trauma-informed, Integrative counsellor, I offer a comforting and safe space that supports self-exploration, reflection, and personal growth. I value self-awareness as a cornerstone for developing self-compassion and improving overall well-being.
Our sessions offer an opportunity for you to solely focus on yourself, without interruption, and away from everyday distractions. One of the most valuable aspects of our time together is the nurturing of a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, confidentiality, and non-judgment, which supports open communication and vulnerability. Within our relationship, you have the freedom to express your emotions and thoughts, explore deeper issues and use the insights gained to strengthen your relationships in daily life.
I bring extensive experience in providing support to clients facing a wide array of personal and psychological challenges. It's not about categorising issues as big or small; it's about their significance to you. If something is important to you, it becomes important to me. Your feelings and experiences matter, and together, we will explore and address whatever occupies your thoughts, acknowledging its impact on your life and journey toward well-being.
I am dedicated to supporting individuals across a wide range of challenges and life situations, including anxiety, depression, feelings of loneliness or marginalisation, relationship challenges, health issues, and those in the process of exploring their identity or navigating the delicate stages of grief. My support extends to individuals undergoing significant life changes, such as becoming a parent, navigating a separation, living with neurodiversity, surviving domestic abuse, or young individuals embarking on the journey towards adulthood and independence.
I also warmly welcome both counselling students and those interested in exploring therapy to further their personal and professional development through self-exploration.
I am here to meet you where you are in your journey, appreciating and valuing the range of experiences and challenges that are uniquely yours. I provide a warm and nurturing environment where you'll feel welcomed and find a sense of belonging.

I am a counsellor based in Wokingham, and I welcome clients from the surrounding areas of Berkshire, Reading, Bracknell, Windsor, Maidenhead, and Ascot. I am also happy to work with clients from across the UK through online sessions.
I offer face-to-face appointments in Wokingham. I work from two clinics, both of which are relaxing and pleasant for your therapy sessions, each with its own unique charm. Your clinic location will depend on the day of your booking and your mobility needs. I also offer online counselling for those who need or prefer it, providing the convenience of accessing therapy from your own home (or another chosen place) anywhere in the UK, without the need to travel.
Sessions are 50 minutes and cost £60.
Counselling may be short or long term, a one off experience or something that becomes part of your self-care. It is an investment in yourself and your future.
Please contact me for an initial, commitment-free 15 minute Zoom or telephone consultation to discuss your therapy needs in confidence. We can discuss what you are looking for, and whether you feel that we could work well together.
I offer both brief therapy and long term therapy. Open ended work offers us the opportunity to work more in depth.
I also offer therapy to Counselling students in preparation for their therapeutic practice.
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
Carl Rogers
During our work together, you may discover new aspects of yourself, similar to the benefits that come with software updates for devices. These transformations, facilitated by the complex interaction between mind and body, can significantly enhance your emotional regulation, boost self-esteem and confidence, improve mood and behaviour, and positively affect your physical health and overall well-being.
My hope is that therapy will be a consistent and comforting resource for you, available at any time and any stage in your life when you feel the need to access it.
